Follow this recipe to make some delicious baked apples stuffed with Brie cheese and wrapped in puff pastry.
Ingredients:
2 Fuji apples
1 wedge of Brie cheese
1 sheet of puff pastry
1/3 cup of pecan pieces
1 teaspoon of brown sugar
1 tablespoon of melted butter
1 egg
Maple syrup
Pinch of chipotle powder (optional)
The dish on the video is served with crispy prosciutto with pomegranate seeds and thyme.
1- hollow apple removing the core and creating a cavity.
2- peel Brie cheese and stuff inside the apples.
3- cut puff pastry into strips and wrap around the apples as shown on the video, overlapping each layer.
4- make an egg wash, beating one egg yolk and a teaspoon of water, and brush it over the puff pastry.
5- chop pecans into pieces and mix with the brown sugar and melted butter, then top apples with the pecans.
6- Bake at 400F until puff pastry is nice and golden.
7- Serve with a drizzle of maple syrup. I like mixing a pinch of chipotle powder in the maple syrup to add some heat.
I also served mine with some prosciutto that was crisped up in the oven, some pomegranate seeds and thyme leaves.
