Shoebill Stork Making Noise
Shoebill Stork
The whalebill, also referred to as the whale-headed stork or the shoe-billed stork, is a very large wading bird with long legs. Its scientific name is Balaeniceps rex. Its massive shoe-shaped bill gave rise to its name. It was previously categorized in the order Ciconiiformes with the storks because of its overall shape, which is somewhat stork-like.
