We made a film!
This is part of a bigger Wellbeing initiative between University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Trust and FiveDinners.com to promote health, wellbeing and inclusivity and community through food. Providing the trust with the tools to increase their already exceptional wellbeing strategy.
We made a film taking you on a journey behind the scenes at the Central Production Unit at Solihull Hospital - making over 15,000 meals PER DAY for staff, patients and the public canteen distributed to three different sites.
We cooked one of my recipes (a delicious vegan aubergine spinach daal if you’re interested :)) and follow it from cooking it in huge batches to packaging, storing, distribution and finally serving it in the canteen (obviously I couldn’t resist getting behind the counter to serve…)
I can’t speak for other NHS trusts but University Hospitals Birmingham @uhbtrust is an incredible example of talented, dedicated (and generally downright nice) people doing something right. I was blown away seeing them cook dishes from scratch, making their own curry pastes, marinating chicken overnight, etc..
