About the movie:
Going through a difficult time, Jessica (Jules Willcox) meets a man (Mark Menchaca) on the road who looks like all the maniacs at once, but most of all, John Ryder. The girl gives the gas, but, as the film classics show, you can't get far from these serial killers. The new film by John Hyams, director of the last two "Universal Soldiers" and son of famed genre director and cameraman Peter Hyams, is as simple as a stick, but stings like a wasp. It's like everything is clear and has been seen a million times before, but for some reason it's not boring at all. Perhaps it's the good, on-the-spot performers. Maybe it's the tactile, electrifying atmosphere. Or maybe it's the classic dramaturgical shuffle: the maniac doesn't yet realize that he's messing with the wrong victim. Be that as it may, this catch-up isn't the most useless excuse to spend an hour and a half - the filming and sound design are particularly impressive. The sway and noise of the trees, the wind in the willows and the emptiness in the heart.
