Tonight we begin our adventure to ancient Egypt! Our first city-building adventures begin at the humble city of Nubt where we will begin our path to becoming a great Pharaoh of Egypt. These early stages include Nubt (Naqada), Thinis and Perwadjyt (Buto). They are meant to serve as a tutorial so you can learn how to prevent fires and feed your people. These levels are quite fun and a little bit too easy. I accidentally completed Nubt before they showed me the fire marshals and other buildings that are part of the tutorial. I may eventually come back and try for high scores on these levels and make high quality attempts with a video series. I was very dissatisfied with my negative scores! Because we have no idea when Pharaoh: A New Era will be released I might do those high score attempts after I finish the campaign if the game isn't out yet.

Pharaoh + Cleopatra is a game that came out for Windows PC all the way back in the late 90s! I played this game extensively as a teenager and it was such a blast! I was a huge fan of the SimCity series and played every game since the first one up until SimCity 3000 so I was very used to extremely complex city builders by the time I found Pharaoh. I actually never played the Cleopatra expansion as a kid so some of the gameplay is new to me but very little of it until you get much further into the game. The game is a huge blast from the past and will be my ongoing Throwback Thursday series until I complete the game. At some point in the near future we will also get the game Pharaoh: A New Era which is being released on Steam games. I'm so hyped for the new game which is why I'm replaying the old one in anticipation.
