War affected people in Northern Uganda have welcomed the proposal to hear the charges against former Lord’s Resistance Army commander, Dominic Ongwen in Gulu or Kampala. Last week, the International criminal court announced the proposal by the pre-trial chamber to move Ongwen’s confirmation of charges hearing nearer to where he allegedly committed the crimes. This would give an opportunity to LRA victims to follow the proceedings. Ongwen’s confirmation of charges hearing has been set for 21st January 2016.
