A journey through the South African countryside from King William's Town to Fort Hare University in Alice, carrying the sound system for a session happening that night at Fort Hare.
This idea for this video came from watching this footage which brought to mind the song "Riding On A High and Windy Day" by the Paragons. This mix was for a radio show I did featuring Augustus Pablo, and his production on the same riddim, "Black Man's Heart Cries Out" by Junior Delgado, is featured later on along with the Pablo dub versions.
This footage might linger a bit, but I wanted to capture the drawn out feeling of moving across the African landscape, riding on the back of the truck with the wind blowing. Throughout the clip you can get a feel of what the rural areas are like, scattered settlements, open fields, majestic mountains and expansive valleys.
Enjoy the journey.
