In this video I will show you how to use a kong for the first time with a puppy or any age dog. It is important to introduce a puppy or dog to a kong properly so that your pet will quickly learn how to love their kong. Your puppy may not show interest in a Kong toy and simply walk away from this weird looking rubber toy if you do not properly introduce the Kong to them for the first time.
Make the Kong stuffing super simple at first. Think of food stuffed Kongs as puzzles. Sit with your puppy and let them smell the food in the Kong for the first time. Then place the Kong on a soft surface and see how your puppy responds. You can roll the Kong so your puppy will show interest.
Once your puppy grasps the concept this interactive Kong toy they will love to take on the challenge to get their meal out of the Kong. Now you can make the Kong a little more difficult and use Soft kibble, goats milk and a little peanut butter and make a frozen Kong treat.
Mental stimulation is an important daily requirement for puppies and dogs of all ages. Using a Kong keeps their brain busy. An easy way to provide your dog mental stimulation are food stuffed and frozen Kongs.
