Weak abdominals and have a huge impact on posture, balance, and walking. The problem with traditional abdominal strengthening exercises after a stroke is the “lopsided” (asymmetrical) nature of the left and right side. This is due to hemiplegia (weakness on one side). It is important to relearn how to get the right side and the left side to activate at the same time. This will dramatically impact standing, and stepping. In this video, you will learn a simple stroke exercise for the abdominals.
