Tranquillo Floris preserves the natural form of the Cannonau grape to make the best wine. With 40 years of experience tending to his family vineyard, he has developed a unique approach to cultivating and caring for grapes in Sardinia.
At the time this documentary was being made, Sardinia experienced extreme climate variations, with temperatures reaching 47 to 50 degrees Celsius in different areas of the island. Most vineyards lost their crops, but Tranquillo was one of the few whose entire field produced the best grapes.
Tranquillo walks through his vineyard every day, meticulously checking the development of his plants with a single purpose: to make one of the best wines the Sardinian land has known. His wine has a bitter taste that leaves a sweet aftertaste, which is appreciated by the Floris family and their friends.
The wine is bottled without preservatives or chemicals, making it completely natural. As documentarians, we feel that Tranquillo's legacy should be shared and appreciated, as it represents the real origin of life, where each family creates its own and unique food.
We thank the Floris family and their friends for allowing us to share part of their legacy.
