About the Band:
Harry Katz and the Pistachios combine Harry's uniquely raspy voice with raw and powerful rock and roll. Harry Katz, a veteran of the New York DIY indie rock scene, straddles the line between standard blues and retro rock compositions, and a modern day relevance. Reminiscent of Tom Wait's poetic grandeur, Lenoard Cohen's sad truth, Randy Newman's playful fatalism, and Captain Beefheart's f*** all attitude, Harry captures a space in the music world that lives in your subconscious, unknown but already familiar.
The Pistachios have always focused on creating imaginative new spaces with its audience by transporting them to a place of cathartic dancing and singing. The Pistachios believe that heaven is only a place inside our collective imagination and our mission is to tap into that even if just for a moment.
About the Song:
Since the pandemic hit, and live shows have been put on hold, Harry Katz has been solely focused on recording in professional studios and at his home. For his first home studio release, Harry worked remotely with artists in London, New York and Los Angeles to recreate the Kink's Classic "Sunny Afternoon" with a heavy and dark attitude properly suited for the summer of 2020. Sung in a duet with Lee Tatlock of Cream with a K, the vocal contrast is simultaneously haunting and inviting. The sounds, both organic and synthetic, are beautifully mixed and mastered by Tommy Audio of Forget Studios.
