SPECT (Single-Photon Emission Computed Tomography) is a type of functional imaging modality that is used to analyze blood flow and metabolism of certain tissues. Because concussion can cause a reduction in brain blood flow, there has been some interest around SPECT for patients with chronic concussion symptoms with many patients trying to find ways to get this image done.
