Grafting fruit trees doesn’t end after the graft takes. Graft maintenance is essential for good results. Without it even grafts that have taken and are growing well can have problems and fail.
Summer prune your grafts to avoid wind breaks and be sure to remove any competition from the rootstock or other branches since the grafts will always be the weakest link.
