I was asked in class if I could offer any examples of companies that had lost their competitive advantage and were able to regain it. The case of Best Buy is absolutely inspirational - by creating good jobs for the front-line staff and backing it up with operational excellence, CEO @Hubert Joly was able to make the physical stores into an asset, persuade brands that they needed to be there, and become a multichannel "go to" provider for just about anything tech.
