Well then, welcome to our machinery safety series 💡

A HAZOP or risk assessment is definitely the first place you should start. When we host a Machine Risk assessment, we make sure that we Involve everyone associated with the machine to properly determine all the Hazards. This includes but not limited to the automation engineer, electrician, mechanical fitters and engineers, operators, engineering manager and supervisor.

Make sure you take all type of Hazards into consideration! Hazards like Chemical, Ergonomics, Mechanical, Organisational, Electrical, Occupational safety, confined spaces, stored energy. From this assessment you can identify the machines Hazards and compile them onto a list.

This is the start of keeping your employees safe, remember that Worksafe requires companies to take all practicable steps to ensure the machines are safe!
