On the back of the Cassandra Bankson video on CeraVe I wanted to clear up a few things and for once and for all cover off why I dont use Cerave in my skincare routine.
Hey guys and welcome back to Mad About Skin where today we are talking Cerave. I have spoken on the channel a number of times in the past as to why I dont use Cerave in my skincare routine, nor do I recommend it here on the channel. In the past 24 hours I have received a large number of comments, questions and accusations on the back of a small feature I got in a Cassandra Bankson video on the brand and I wanted to cover off things in todays video.
First off lets clear up some misinformation and misconceptions.. I have tried all the Cerave products which are available in the Uk market so any Cerave review on this channel is one based on personal experience with the brand. I also would never judge those who like and continue to use Carave as I have always said on the channel to use the products which meet your needs and deliver the results you like to see.
I would like to thank Cassandra for getting this conversation going as I think with all the hype around CaraVe as a brand someone needs to tell the other side of the story.
There are a lot of reasons why I dont reach for CeraVe Skin Care but foremost I stick to the philosophy that in skincare you should always use what works for you. If Cerave products meet your needs, budget and ethical considerations then you should continue to use the brand as all our skin is individual and so should our skincare routine choices.
My main issue with Cerave is they are not a cruelty free brand. Whilst there are many brands in the skin care market which test on animals, Cerave obscure the truth about their animal testing on their website and fail to be open and transparent on the issue which I think shows disrespect for the consumer.
Further to the cruelty free issue, Cerave do not have a standard pricing policy internationally and despite being owned by L'Oreal they continue to charge almost double the dollar equivalent for their products in the UK and EU than what they do in the USA. Whilst not all brands need to charge exactly the same in every country it is unusual for there to be such disparity with a large multi national brand.
Finally the way CeraVe conducted their reformulation showed a complete lack of transparency and disrespect for consumers and I just think we deserve better.
I would recommend everyone check out Cassandra Bankson Cerave video which can be found here: [ Ссылка ]
