In Part 1 of our “Designing for Modern Essbase”, we’ll review the three types of Oracle Essbase cubes (both on-prem and Cloud) – ASO, BSO, and Hybrid. We’ll review pros, cons, and design considerations for each cube type when designing custom cubes in EPM Cloud or native Essbase. We’ll also review which cube types are used in Planning Cloud, FCC, PCM, and Cloud ERP. Essbase is the foundation for many of the Oracle products and it is critical you understand the different Essbase cubes to have the best end user and administrative support experience.
