Clashes between Russian and Ukrainian troops continue in eastern Ukraine.
Ukraine said the Russian military were focused on an offensive in Bakhmut in the Donetsk region.
Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered a temporary cease-fire in Ukraine.
A 36-hour pause in the fighting - in observance of the Orthodox Christmas holiday weekend.
But Kyiv has rejected the ceasefire request, calling the move a ploy for Russian forces to regroup and launch more attacks.
The news came after talks between Putin and President Erdogan of Turkiye, who's been acting as mediator.
