The FAA is taking several proactive steps to address wrong surface events, reduce the potential for pilot confusion and help improve safety in the National Airspace System (NAS). Arrival Alert Notices (AAN) are graphics produced by the FAA that visually depict an approach at specific airports to help mitigate wrong surface misalignment risks for pilots. They also include language describing the misalignment risk.
You can find AANs on the FAA's Runway Safety page at [ Ссылка ] or in the Special Notices section towards the back of the appropriate chart Supplement.
The FAA's From the Flight Deck video series uses aircraft-mounted cameras to capture runway and taxiway footage and combines them with diagrams and visual graphics to clearly identify hot spots and other safety-sensitive items. Learn more at [ Ссылка ].
This video is informational only and does not replace the pilot’s responsibility to conduct required pre-flight planning in accordance with FAR 91.103.
