2025 BMW M2 CS Subverts Virtually All M Expectations With Fancy 4-Door Morphing
For example, the company is apparently preparing to make traditional BMW car fans run amok crying their undying outrage yet again with the latest introduction – and they are using Fortnite, an independently created map called Hypnopolis, plus lots of grille LEDs to announce the impending premiere of the first-ever iX2 subcompact all-electric crossover SUV.
No one really asked for more controversial designs, of course. And yet, here we are, discussing more of them in the same sentence. That is because the rumor mill – including our dedicated team of spy photographers – is raving about the upcoming BMW M4 CS variant that will be tucked inside the range between the M4 Competition and M4 CSL when it's done sniffing for AMG victims at the Nürburgring Nordschleife.
However, what we really talk about is a nudge smaller – though just as crazy-styled. Yep, the second generation G87 BMW M2 is our main subject of car adoration (or chagrin, depending on your POV) on this occasion, and it's all thanks to the imaginative realm of digital car content creators. So, the good folks over at the 'Q Cars' channel on YouTube aim to daze and amaze the audience with the potential styling of their vision for the G87 M2 CS (Competition Sport).
As you might already be aware if you haven't lived under a lunar rock for a couple of years, BMW unleashed the high-performance variant of the BMW 2 Series as a replacement for the 1 Series M coupe, the most affordable M GmbH representative (starting at $63,200 in America), and a spiritual successor to the compact sports car days of the E30-series M3 coupe.
Now, the second generation (G87) has taken a step in the individualization direction by neither resembling the 2 Series (even the M240i) too much nor taking any styling cues from the larger M3 and M4 siblings. Some would say that's for the better due to the latter sporting that double-coffin grille style, but others will claim the Minecraft-like design is not necessarily a step in the right direction.
Anyway, the fact remains that BMW's M2 is a great street and track weapon against other nimble sports cars like the Toyota GR Supra or the recently introduced 2024 Nissan Z Nismo, and probably no one will dare speak ill of the qualities exhibited by the company's 3.0-liter S58 twin-turbo inline-six mill packing 453 official horsepower (and quite a few more, unofficially) and 406 lb-ft (550 Nm).
However, we all know that BMW will soon start expanding the family with additional versions. As such, the channel's resident pixel master has decided to imagine the next evolutionary step – a hypothetical 2025 BMW M2 CS (Competition Sport). Interestingly, though, the host and the CGI expert decided to subvert expectations of a two-door coupe by portraying in the video embedded below an elegantly sleek four-door BMW M2.
Well, it looks cool, and we all know the F22/F23 BMW 2 Series generation has included a Gran Coupe fastback sedan since 2019. But let's be frank. With the BMW M3 executive high-performance sedan out there in the real world, what are the chances of a four-door BMW M2 four-door also happening? They're slim to none, right?
