India is home to some of the most iconic and endangered animals on the planet. What most people don’t know is there’s an animal, normally only associated with Africa, living in a remote part of this country. This part of India is domain to the king of the jungle, the last surviving Asiatic lions. These lions can only be found in one forest in the Indian state of Gujarat and there are only about 500 left. This makes them one of the most endangered large carnivores on the planet.
In the past few years, there are more and more reports of these big cats leaving this forest and turning up hundreds of kilometers away.
Adam Thorn, wildlife expert, adventurer, and explorer is on a mission to find out why these lions are leaving the forest. Thorn explores the Gir forest and studies the biodiversity of the area to gather clues as to why this is happening. He is also determined to find lions outside the forest in an effort to confirm that these lions are actually roaming great distances from their natural habitat.
