Juozas Naujalis (1869-1934) yra laikomas lietuvių muzikos patriarchu. Atgimimo metais savo muzika Naujalis ugdė tautinį susipratimą, ragino tautiečius mylėti savo kraštą, nepasiduoti rusų caro priespaudai. Ypač svarbus ir glaudus buvo ryšys su poetu Maironiu. Šių dviejų lietuvių tautos milžinų dėka gimė daugybė įkvėpiančių dainų, kurios net šiandieną virpina lietuvių širdis visame pasaulyje.
Juozas Naujalis (1869-1934) is considered the patriarch of Lithuanian music. At the turn of the century, Naujalis educated an awakening nation with his music, urging his countrymen to love their country, to resist the oppression of the Russian Czar. His relationship with the great Lithuanian poet Maironis was especially important. These two Lithuanian giants jointly produced numerous inspiring patriotic songs.
