I was fortunate to get to work the Arri 416 super 16mm film camera. Since I couldn’t find a lot of info on the camera on YouTube, I decided to shoot a quick video of what Tim at Alan Gordon taught me.

My apologies it’s not super in depth. I forgot to mention if you add or remove the eye piece extension, the image will flip. To correct this, there’s a twisty knob near where the view finder comes out of the camera you twist to rotate the image in the viewfinder. Note: this doesn’t affect the video tap image.

It’s also worth noting I was using the SmallHD 702 running the latest firmware OS4 (version 4.4.0). On the 702, the image looked normal (no stretching or skewing). We tried a 502 but it had a stretched image. However, I’m not sure which firmware the 502 was running.
