In this one-person performance entitled, 'The Last Steps', Henry Joe Sakala delivers a mesmerising performance and message about what matters most to a person at a critical moment in their life.
This talk was recorded at TEDxLusaka 2019: The power of togetherness held on 1st June 2019 at the NIPA Convention Centre Author of the award-winning book, 'Unmasked: A Collection of Short Stories and Poems', Henry Joe Sakala fell in love with telling stories at a tender age of 12. He is well known for writing a number of award-winning plays such as Living with the Enemy, Judas Affair, Town Boy and Surviving the Wilderness.
Henry is also credited for creating, writing and starring in some of Zambia’s major feature films and TV drama series, notably serving as the head writer of Zambezi Magic TV drama series Mfuti, Mpali and Land Lady. He is also celebrated for writing many drama series and feature films on Muvi Television.
Henry’s other work includes Silent Voice, Guns and Rings, Survivors, Brothers, Redemption, Rewind, When the Curtain Falls, Street Circles, Dancers and Reflection of Sadness. He is currently working on a novel entitled “An African Country.” This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
