Bell peppers could be a staple in your guinea pig's diet depending on what color bell pepper you give. Green, yellow, orange, and red are actually all different stages of ripeness in a bell pepper with green being the most unripe. Green bell peppers can be fed to your piggies daily while yellow, orange, and red should only be fed a few times a week. The more ripe the bell pepper, the higher sugar content it contains and therefore the less you should feed. Bell peppers contain Vitamin A and C which keeps your guinea pig's body happy and healthy so there is less of a chance for them to develop Scurvy and other diseases. Does your guinea pig like to each bell pepper? Let us know in the comments below!
