The shutdown over illegal construction of mosques spread to different parts of Himachal Pradesh as Hindu outfits staged protests in Mandi days after locals clashed with police over the same issue.

The Mandi Police on Friday used water cannons at the people protesting against the illegal construction of a mosque in Shimla.
