OTEP
The Masquerade
Atlanta, GA
March 12, 2013
Here is some never-before-shared footage from Otep's headlining set in Atlanta, where they were joined by Shadows Fall and Sworn Enemy. I was there to video tape Shadows Fall with my Sony 8MM camera, but managed to capture at least 10 minutes of Otep before I left. I wasn't familiar with their music at the time , but thought they were interesting enough to capture a bit of their set. Rap-metal isn't really my thing, but I was impressed by the sheer aggression of Otep Shamaya's performance.
They were supporting their very first studio album SEVAS TRA ("Art Saves") at the time. Apparently, this was a historically important show as Otep mentions that they'd "lost their drummer that day", but had a replacement to play the show. This may have been when Mark "Moke" Mistany left Otep. I'm not certain who the replacement was here, but Scot Coogan did play on the remainder of this tour.
This was done with a Sony 8mm video camera. Enjoy!
Lineup:
Otep Shamaya - vocals
Rob Patterson - guitars
Jason 'eVCil J" McGuire - bass
Scot Coogan (?) - drums
