I got my Canadian citizenship A LOT faster than I expected! I attended my Canadian citizenship oath ceremony virtually a few days ago and completed the final step to officially become a Canadian citizen. My entire journey to Canadian citizenship was an almost 7-year journey, and the process was not an easy one for me.
My application was processed rather quickly, and it only took about 9 months from ‘submission’ to ‘oath invite’.
The hardest part of the citizenship application process is the waiting. But once you receive your AOR, you can track the process online, which helps calm your nerves a bit. While you wait, be sure to study for the citizenship test as much as you can. The test is fairly simple, but they do change up the questions each time. Read the study guide, and also watch the citizenship test study guide by @ImmigrationCanada-allied on YouTube – which is what I did.
I pinned my timeline in the comment section below just in case anyone was wondering what the key dates were. Good luck on your journey to citizenship and I hope all goes well for you!
