Up in Arkansas with our friend Nick Shoulders, he took it upon himself to introduce us to all the best people and places the state could offer. One of those places was the Whitewater Tavern in Little Rock, Arkansas. I knew it was the stuff of legends just by taking a gander at the walls, adorned in show posters of performances past, with legends like Adam Carroll front and center. The jukebox was also stacked with winners - always a good sign.
For the folks to fill the tavern, Nick picked only the best characters. It was here I met Dylan Earl and Willi Carlisle, a fittingly viking-esque name for an imposingly larger-than-life, yet disarmingly charming man. Willi can shoot the shit with the best of them, keeping us entertained for hours, distractingly so as the hours wore on past our welcome in the bar, which had opened on a weekday just for us. He delivered though, and played us this raucous song full of great "hillbilly portmanteaus", as Willi described it.

Willi describes himself as a folksinger, writer and theatre artist, and it shines through in his ability to captivate the audience (whether it's a room or a couple folks around a bar table) with not just music, but electrifying facial expressions and body movement more common on a theatre stage.
