It is based on quilt as you go on a serger methods except that I don’t own a serger. So I thought I’d see if I could do the same on a domestic sewing machine. And it totally worked!

There is no hand sewing, no joining strips, no sashing and no false backs! It’s so simple and I was so excited when I found it. I’ve linked to the quilt as you go on a serger videos that I watched down below if you want to check out my source material!

I have now made two quilts with this method and this video shows you the simpler one.

I think this method is super adaptable and could be used for lots of different types of quilts even though the serger QAYG videos I watched were all strip quilts.

My orphan block quilt had loads of crazy blocks and sections and I was able to use this same method for that too.
