So I'm at the Curry showroom and I'm with Courtney McLeod. Her design firm is right, meets left. Okay. Courtney, let's talk about first of all the name of your company. Why right meets left. Well, it's a play on the idea of right brain and left brain. I'm actually a career changer and spent 15 years in real estate finance before starting my design company seven years ago. So it's a way to communicate the pluses that we bring to the process of design, which is not just creativity but also organization and analytical rigor. So let's talk about using nature inspiration to bring it into your home in particular enlighting and then other accessories. Sure. Well, I love the trend of nature inspired design because I think that there is an inherent optimism in incorporating nature into your home. And I also love the idea of doing it in a very light and airy way. And so I think lighting is the perfect way to do that. One of the most fun ways to do it for me when I'm designing for clients is to actually create nature inspired items. But out of unexpected materials such as brass and bronze. I think it's a really cool way to get that look in lighting. I think when people think about nature, they think it is almost like rustic or it's about color. And I know you're very into color, but what the lighting does is bring sometimes the glam into it. It also brings the crystal sometimes. Sure. And you know that's another reason why I love nature inspired design. It's quite easy to incorporate in a variety of design styles for exactly what you said. You can go very rustic, very simple and you can go all the way to the other side of the spectrum and go very glam and crystal embellished and the whole thing. And I always loved the glam side, so that's kind of my favorite. But that's why I think it's really fun, especially for the home decorator. It's an easy way to get it right in your home and to express this trend in the right way. It's anything from, you know, a polished brass Palm leaf floor lamp, which is super, super glam to a beautiful light and airy bronze circle fixture that has little details of leaves and flowers that feels very much more rustic and simple and warm. You are known also or has been named as a color person and talk about that. This doesn't embrace that, but I think it's something very fun that you bring to the table. Absolutely. And I think that it's very complimentary with the nature inspired design, you know, incorporating colors like wonderful mossy creams or cranberry reds or airy blues into a space. Those are all colors that I'm really excited about for 2020 and I think in the home, you know, covering your walls with a color like that and then setting it off against a nature inspired lighting piece, especially something that's very light and airy. It really creates a cohesive design statement. And so that's really what I'm focused on for 2020 thank you so much for joining me. I really appreciate it. Oh, thank you Ellen. It was a real pleasure. So for those of you who don't know, Lux magazine has said that 2021 of the trends is nature inspired. So that's why Courtney was joining me now to talk about one of the trends from Lux magazine.
