Many people run into errors with saving projects or crashes when working on projects for a few hours; 98 percent of the time it's because the hard drive is incorrectly formatted or left on its default format. For example, if you pull a spare hard drive out of your windows notebook or MacBook Pro laptop and put it into the mpc live without formatting, you can read and load samples with no problem. You can save to the MPC Lives 16gb internal HD. But when you try to save to the unformatted drive that you're reading and loading files from you'll crash or get an error message.
Here's a quick video on properly formatting a hard drive for use in the MPC Live.
