In light of today's announcements that it won't be possible to get all primary school children back in to school before the Summer, which sadly was probably inevitable given the social distancing requirements, today I asked the Education Secretary to confirm that wherever schools do have the space and the staff to bring more students from other year groups they will be helped and supported to do so.
If it's not possible to get everyone back, many schools will want to do as much as possible for as many of their children as possible, and government should support that. They will also have vulnerable or disadvantaged children they want to prioritise for interventions too.
Finally I asked him what other childcare options are available for parents who were expecting children to go back. I hope that very soon you'll be able to leave children with relatives, which will be needed for many people to get back to work, but for now there's guidance here: [ Ссылка ]
