Norman was born in North Wales. He had church organ lessons in his teens,
and first encountered a Cinema Organ playing for Minor's Matinees
at the Compton Organ of the ABC/Regal Cinema in Chester in 1969.
He first broadcast on Sam Costa's Lunchtime Radio programme on BBC Radio Two.
Norman was appointed Musical Director/Organist at the Floral Pavilion Theatre,
New Brighton, Merseyside where he accompanied many well known stars including
Vince Hill, Dick Emery, Nat Gonella, Ken Platt, Hylda Baker, Frank Carson, Frankie Howerd,
Adelaide Hall, Bob Monkhouse, John Hanson, Clinton Ford, Al Read, Tommy Trinder,
Sandy Powell, Percy Edwards, Cavan O'Connor, Ruby Murray, Terry Hall & Lenny the Lion,
Bert Weedon, Tom O'Connor, Chic Murray, Ben Wariss, Roy Walker, Bernard Manning,
Billy Dainty, Stan. Boardman, Ken Goodwin, Pearl Johson & Teddy Carr, and many more.
Norman played for Bedford Cinemas, Liverpool
playing at the Plaza Birkenhead and the Mayfair Liverpool.
Norman broadcast from Plaza Birkenhead, Granada Kingston, BBC Theatre Organ,
and the Astra, Llandudno in North Wales.
He often acted as Musical Director Summer Review, Olde-Tyme Music Hall, and Pantomime.
