EuroBloodNet's Topic on focus: Thrombotic Microangiopathies Webinars are online live educational sessions for professionals conducted using the Zoom Platform. This program has been developed in collaboration with the French reference center for thrombotic microangiopathies (CNR-MAT). Fifteen webinars divided into two chapters are led by experts in the field of Thrombotic Microangiopathies and have a form of Power Point presentations.

The main objective for this program is to disseminate very innovative topics among hematologists, internists, nephrologists, pediatricians, or other health care providers interested in the topic in order to give visibility to the last cutting-edge advances in the field of Thrombotic Microangiopathies (TMAs). This objective responds not only to the need for in-depth knowledge sharing by international experts of this rare group of diseases, but also to the need to create a repository of comprehensive educational material on all types of Thrombotic Microangiopathies. Thrombotic Microangiopathies require a specific educational knowledge from a clinical, pathological, etiological and phenotypic point of view due to the low prevalence of the disease and multi-level clinical manifestations.

Finally, this educational program would clarify the role of hematologists, nephrologists, and pathologists in the clinical management of patients with TMAs, as this disease requires a multidisciplinary approach due to variety of symptoms like hemolytic anemia, low platelets, and organ damage as a result of the formation of microscopic blood clots in capillaries and small arteries of most organs.

Webinars description

ERN-EuroBloodNet webinars are conducted using the Zoom Platform. It allows full audio and visual communication, as well as interaction between webinar's speaker and participants.

Each Webinars will last 45 minutes: 30 minutes for the expert's presentation and last 15 minutes for hearers' questions. In addition, they are always held in the same day of the week and time slot: Wednesdays at 16:00 (CEST)

- TTP in the elderly provided by Dr. Jehane Fadlallah
