The main road from Tyrol to the western Austrian state of Vorarlberg is blocked by severe weather and landslides. It concerns the Arlberg Pass. There is a lot of water damage in the region due to the severe weather and there are also floods.

Normally, through traffic goes on the Innsbruck motorway towards Bregenz through the Arlberg tunnel, but it has been closed for months due to construction work. On the route, traffic now has to go over the pass. This is no longer possible due to the landslides.

The town of Sankt Anton am Arlberg was also badly hit. There, cars were swallowed by the water of the Rosanna river and the road surface disappeared into the mud. The mayor called the situation ‘quite serious’ yesterday.
