Thousands of demonstrators and LGBTQ community members celebrated Pride on Sunday, flooding the streets of New York City. The third annual Queer Liberation March, hosted by the Reclaim Pride Coalition, made its way from Bryant Park to The Stonewall Inn where thousands more crowded the Greenwich Village.
The Queer Liberation March is described as a People’s March and revives the goals of the 1970 Christopher Street Liberation Day, along with the 1969 Stonewall Uprising. Organizers did not utilize corporate sponsorship, organize regimented contingents, or work with the NYPD in planning the march.
