The original Mk.I Marshall Bluesbreaker pedal from the 90s is well known for being a 'transparent' overdrive, loved by the likes of John Mayer. The circuit has been cloned by other pedal manufacturers many times over the years - and was famously used as a loose basis of the acclaimed Analogman King Of Tone that we all know and love (& wait many years for!)
But this is the original; the real deal. What do you think? Is it a brilliant low gain, tone-shaping overdrive? Or not worth the hype? Comment below!
Guitar is a Fender Strat through a Hughes & Kettner Puretone Combo (recorded with an sE Electronics RNR1 Ribbon) and a Cornell Romany Plus (recorded with a 57)
