Within a remote desert there is a towering glacier composed not out of ice but rather salt which is more than 300 feet or 100 meters tall and advances across the landscape each year. This salt glacier has a dome in its center and is a fascinating geologic oddity. This video will discuss how the more than 100 salt glaciers of Iran formed and mention two other locations they can be found outside of the country, including in Utah.
