Single Crochet Chainless Foundation stitch tutorial
A chainless foundation is a great way to add stretch to the bottom edge of your work. This row replaces the need to chain and then work a row of single crochets into the chains.
✨ To make a single crochet chainless foundation:
▫️ Start with a slip knit on your hook
▫️ Chain 2
▫️ Insert hook into first chain (farthest from the hook)
▫️ YO, draw up a loop
▫️ YO, pull through 1 loop (this is your chain)
▫️ YO, pull through 2 loops (this is your Sc)
First stitch complete
✨ To begin second stitch
▫️Insert hook into bottom 2 loops of chain created in last stitch
▫️ YO, draw up a loop
▫️ YO, pull through 1 loop (this is your chain)
▫️ YO, pull through 2 loops (this is your Sc)
Follow steps for second stitch until you have the desired number of stitches!
I hope this is helpful in your next crochet project!
