This week's Hero Open marks the return of an event not staged since 2002, so long ago that three of this season's European Tour winners – Rasmus Højgaard, Min Woo Lee and Renato Paratore – would have been so young that they would not have started school yet. A handful of players in this year's field also played in 2002, with Graeme Storm, Richard Bland, Jamie Donaldson, David Howell and Robert Rock having captured 11 European Tour titles between them since last contesting this event.
