Colonial French Empire: The height of the French colonial empire was during the 19th century, particularly in the second half of the century. France had extensive colonial holdings in Africa, Southeast Asia, and parts of the Caribbean. The exact year can be considered around the mid to late 19th century, perhaps in the 1860s to 1880s.
Brazilian Empire: The Brazilian Empire existed from 1822 to 1889. Its territorial extent was relatively stable during much of this time, and it reached its greatest extent in the mid to late 19th century.
Spanish Empire: The Spanish Empire reached its greatest extent during the 16th century, particularly under Charles V and Philip II. The mid-16th century, around the 1550s and 1560s, is often considered the height of Spanish imperial power.
British Empire: The British Empire reached its zenith in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The late 1800s, especially the latter part of Queen Victoria's reign, is often considered the height of British imperial power.
Japanese Empire: The Empire of Japan saw significant territorial expansion in the early to mid-20th century, particularly during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The early 20th century, around the time of World War II, marked the peak of Japanese imperial expansion.
Majapahit Empire: The Majapahit Empire was a powerful Hindu-Buddhist empire in Southeast Asia. Its greatest extent was during the 14th century, with the rule of Hayam Wuruk (r. 1350–1389) often considered the peak of Majapahit power.
Konbaung Dynasty: The Konbaung Dynasty in Burma (Myanmar) was at its greatest extent in the 18th and early 19th centuries. The late 18th century, under the rule of King Bodawpaya, is often considered the period of territorial expansion.
Achaemenid Empire: The Achaemenid Empire, founded by Cyrus the Great, reached its greatest extent under Darius I in the 5th century BCE. The mid-5th century BCE, around the time of Darius I's reign, is considered the height of the Achaemenid Empire.
