American Sniper stars Bradley Cooper, who plays the most deadly sniper in U.S. history, Chris Kyle.
The movie set to be released on December 25th, 2014, is based on the best selling book released under the same name. It will likely show the combat, sacrifices, and impossible decisions that came with being a hero like Kyle.
The trailer also hints that a part of the movie will focus on what life at home was like for Kyle, who served four tours in Iraq with 160 confirmed kills out of 255 claimed. “The Devil of Ramadi” as named by insurgents in Iraq had a bounty on his head, but were only able to injure him twice.
Cooper who plays Kyle in the movie, was only able to have a single conversation with Kyle before he was tragically murdered on a shooting range last year.
In a recent interview Cooper stated, “His story first of all really needs to be told, and it’s also relevant on two fronts: gun control and the need to address the many soldiers who are coming back with PTSD. Medicine has evolved to such a state — soldiers are coming back and they’re going to assimilate into the culture and if we don’t address the mental state along with the physical state it’s going to be a problem.”
