About 40 SWAT trainees and 200 volunteers participated in an active shooter training exercise at the Diamond Fork Middle School in Utah County.
Law enforcement used a smog machine to trigger fire alarms and makeup to make everything seem as real as possible. The scenario started with a shooter in the hallways and ended with a hostage - rescue situation in the library.
For Sarah Bush and her sister, Laura Hall, drills like this bring back really difficult memories.
"It's very scary and very triggering," Bush said.
