Life cycle and behavioral studies of Blue Tailed Bee Eater. It is a migratory bird who migrates in North India and Pakistan during summer.
Like other bee-eaters it predominantly eats insects, especially bees, wasps and hornets, which are caught in the air by sorties from an open perch.
Last year we didn't find such large waterbody near their nest. This year the large waterbody was made due to some mud digging work for construction. We found some birds are hovering over the water like pied kingfisher and catch small fishes to feed themselves.
