STORYLINE
Legislators held a minute of silence during a parliamentary session in Pristina on Friday, to pay tribute to those who died when a military plane travelling from Kosovo crashed.
At least 42 people were killed when the AN-24 aircraft went down near the Slovak border in northeastern Hungary on Thursday.
Among those onboard were Slovak soldiers returning from the NATO-led peacekeeping mission in the province.
"I express my deepest regret and condolences to Slovakia's government for the loss of 37 Slovak soldiers that served in KFOR," said Kosovo's Prime Minister Bajram Kosumi. "It truly is a great sadness."
Kosumi thanked the Slovak and other peacekeepers serving in Kosovo "for doing a great job for the peace, stability and the freedom not only of Kosovo, but of the whole region."
Flags at a Serb memorial guarded by Slovak soldiers in Gazimestan, 10 kilometres (six miles) north of Pristina, flew at half mast on Friday.
Rescuers on Friday recovered 21 bodies from the mountainside where the plane came down.
