Cool Place To Watch Trains! CSX Train In Front Of Veterans Memorial & Norfolk Southern Train With Union Pacific Railroad DPU Locomotive Behind Memorial. School Bus Gets To Wait For Train & Train Goes Under Me While I Am On A Bridge Maintained By Norfolk Southern. These trains are in Kentucky.
This is a great place to watch trains. The Veterans Memorial has tracks right next to it and there is a shelter with a picnic table. There are railroad crossings for CSX and NS. A scanner is a must. Best frequencies are 161.370 & 161.310 for CSX while 160.950 is the best for NS. End Of Train frequency is 452.9375 and Front End Of Train is 457.9375 although I rarely use that one.
The first train is a southbound CSX running between Cincinnati and Louisville, Kentucky on the CSX Short Line LCL. It is seen at the railroad crossing in front of the Walton Police Department. That is the same line that does street running in LaGrange, Ky.
The next train is a Norfolk Southern train with a Union Pacific Railroad locomotive mid train. That train is behind the police station and is running southbound between Cincinnati and Chattanooga , Tennessee on the NS Rat Hole Line. A lucky school bus got to wait for that train.
We also take a look at the Veterans Memorial and we see a historic plaque that has broken off the stand and is now laying in the ditch. I have that plaque in several of my videos before it was damaged, of course. Who would a person notify about the plaque laying in the ditch?
Then we go a few miles north to Erlanger, Ky to see a northbound Norfolk Southern train go under me while I am on a bridge. This bridge is unique because it and the sidewalk on it are both maintained by NS and not the city. This line is the same NS line as the other NS train.
