In this episode of Enlightenment Today, we will come to understand spiritual bypassing. Spiritual bypassing is the use of spiritual practices and beliefs to avoid dealing with painful feelings, unresolved wounds, and developmental needs. And yet, it is much much more and something we all need to understand if we are to authentically grow spiritually. It is a very persistent shadow of spirituality. Spiritual bypassing is often thought of as nothing we need to worry about from the perspective of certain nondual teachings. But if we do not outgrow spiritual bypassing then the depth of any spiritual teaching, nondual or otherwise, will not be truly experienced. To outgrow spiritual bypassing is to understand that an authentic spiritual life is a constant dying to deeper life.
