The well was 50 feet deep and full of water but the two lions supported the rock.

Finally, after three hours of struggle, both the young lions were successfully rescued
The Dedan village's local people cooperated very well in the entire rescue operation
Both lions were taken to a Lion hospital, and then released into the wild

The Asiatic lion (Panthera Leo Leo) is the only species found in the world in the Gir National Park of Gujarat state in India, listed as endangered on the IUCN list. Gir forest and its surrounding areas are the only habitats of lions. The 15th Asiatic lion census across 30,000 km was conducted in June 2020, with a growth rate of 28.87%, with a total lion population estimated at 674, including 159 adult males, 262 adult females, 115 subadults, and 138 cubs. (However, the current estimated population is around above 1000)
In 1904 only 11 Asiatic lions remained. But Nawab Mohabbat Khanji of Junagadh banned hunting and started conservation. Since then the lion population has been steadily increasing. The forest department is doing lion conservation with the help of local people, which is considered to be the world's biggest success story. The Asiatic lion is a royal social animal, lions and humans consider each other as friends, and they never attack humans, the lives of lions provide economic benefits to farmers and the tourism industry.
