Donald Trump's campaign was hoping for an easy week following his debate "victory," but instead they were blindsided by all the calls for President Biden to drop out of the race. A new report from CNN says that the campaign is in panic mode at the thought of a different Democrat taking over on the ticket, and the idea of this throws their last two years of campaigning into complete turmoil. Farron Cousins explains what's happening.

following President Biden's disastrous debate performance at the end of June, Donald Trump had hoped that the news for the next week, you know, which was basically this past week, was just gonna be how Biden's terrible Trump is. Great Trump's gonna win. Everything is okay. But unfortunately, for Donald Trump and his campaign, immediately following that debate, all hell broke loose. What happened, of course, was that Democrats saw President Biden's debate performance, realized that this guy probably isn't up to it, and immediately started calling for him to step down and to be replaced by a different candidate in November that according to CNN Reporter, Elena Train has sent Trump world into a frenzy because it absolutely destroys everything these idiots have been doing for the last year and a half. Donald Trump and his campaign would love nothing more than for President Biden to be the guy they're going against in November.
But now with all the talk of President Biden, you know, being pressured to drop out, even though Biden has said he's staying in it, uh, he had another meeting recently with Democratic governors. He, Obama vouched for him, and then reports said behind the scenes, Obama's like, yeah, I don't think he can do it. You've got major Democratic donors saying, we're not given another dime until you get another candidate. This issue with Biden dropping out is not over regardless of what President Biden says. And that is what is freaking out Trump world. Here is how CNN reporter Elena Train described it. There's a lot of discussion behind the scenes about how to deal with this. They really are uncertain about how to move forward. They have spent months over a year really building out their general campaign infrastructure, mining data, honing their data operation, and the money.
All of that was geared toward a single person going against Joe Biden. I got frantic calls from all corners of Trump world on Monday afternoon asking what's going to happen. They're trying to look now behind the scenes about how that may have to change for their own campaign. So to kind of put that in perspective, right, Donald Trump formally announced his campaign November 15th, 2022. So over a year and a half ago. And ever since that very moment, what has Donald Trump done? Biden, Biden. Biden, Biden, Biden, Biden, Biden, right? Biden's, slow Biden's, cognitively impaired biden's on drugs. Biden is, uh, you know, too amped up. Biden's not amped up enough. Everything has been about Biden. And then what happens if nothing is about Biden anymore? Everything you have compiled, all of the nicknames, all of the dossiers, all of the horrible things you wanna do in the coming months, none of it matters anymore.
It all suddenly becomes a waste of time. And we have seen in just the last few days, by the way, Donald Trump coming out more viciously against Vice President Kamala Harris, because polls do show us, and logic would dictate that if Biden can't run, Harris is the natural replacement. So even though a lot of names are being floated, Gavin Newsom, Gretchen Whitmer, uh, uh, uh, Beshear, all of those people are kind of second fiddle to Kamala Harris. Now, any one of them obviously could be a vice presidential candidate, but it's, it's unlikely that one of them would leapfrog over Harris and become the presidential nominee while she stays at the vice presidential slot. That's probably not gonna happen if anything does happen, but Trump is now trying to prepare for that. We gotta launch these attacks against Harris. We gotta be more vicious. We gotta pretend like she's the person we're going up against. And then if Biden stays in, we have to switch back to Biden. They don't know what to do. So it is kind of funny. Trump thought he got a victory with that debate, but all it did was send his campaign into even more turmoil.
